There were many things I enjoyed and learned - Meeting other like-minded guitarists, being exposed to different styles of playing, exploring new guitar techniques, different ways of strumming, witnessing private guitar shows. Collaborating with fellow guitarists and getting to listen to guitarists of a range of levels. The whole experience was amazing and unforgettable, many friendships made. Great food, fantastic company, fabulous weather and a top notch location. Would definitely do it again. A really fantastic opportunity to spend some time meeting and talking with guitarists from many walks of life. Have really enjoyed my time here and appreciate the chance to hear and share lots of beautiful music! Thanks so much for the opportunity to perform as one of NZ’s ‘perspiring’ (as one of the youngest participant was heard saying earlier in the week - instead of ‘aspiring) guitarists!! Many thanks for another fantastic week of immersion with a great crowd of people with the common interest at all levels, in the classical guitar. Fantastic effort from John, Wendy. Dominique - super human effort and generosity. Can’t wait for the next one!!! |
Thanks and appreciation seem inadequate. This has been an out-of-body experience. To John, Dominique & all you marvelous people who made this possible, my sincere thanks, and thanks again. It was scary because of all the people there and I was the youngest. The food was great and I loved it. I learnt a whole lot of cool, new songs and I got to play in the Festival of Lights. Nana, Granny and Grandpa came from Auckland to watch. I met a whole lot of new people. I really liked the concert we went to one night. It was a new experience that I would definitely go to again. What a great bunch of people who have become friends. Lots of fun, learning, ensembles, orchestra and a mosts noteworthy time. Thanks so much for all the hard working to make this wonderful event happen. Thanks to my trio friends of Shane, Deb. Hope to see you all in 2016, or at Sydney School next year, Jan 2015. |
Another fantastic guitar school. As good as better than 2012. The organisation was fantastic. A great program and again there was a welcoming, encouraging spirit from the teachers and organisers. Thank you for organising such a great school. You guys are awesome. There was a wonderful family atmosphere at the TCGSS and the older/more experienced players were very tolerant and encouraging towards the young first time attenders. It was extremely well organised with a lot packed In to the number of days, and the evening concert we attended was outstanding for the price of the ticket! I heard a comment made that this was better than other schools they had attended because everyone ate together and spent more time together as a group rather than drifting off at meal times. An incredible opportunity for those who are passionate about classical guitar. |
