PETER DOUBLINSZKI

Peter Doublinszki
Peter Doublinszki is a classical guitarist who has performed actively in Europe, New Zealand, and Australia for over two decades. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Szeged and a Master of Music degree from the University of Auckland. Since the 2018 TCGSS, Peter's approach to performing has undergone a significant transformation. Previously, he focused on interpreting music written or arranged by composers or other classical guitarists for the classical guitar, in line with classical music traditions. However, the following year, he was accepted to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts at the Sydney Conservatorium (under the guidance of internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Vladimir Gorbach and Australia's leading jazz pianist, Kevin Hunt), which allowed him to explore pathways to improvisation and implement improvisation techniques into his performance practice. His recital is the culmination of his research and practice over the last few years.
